What is a Skybet Acca Freeze?
Skybet’s Acca Freeze lets you freeze one leg of an accumulator while the bet is in play: if your chosen team goes ahead, you can lock that leg as a winner, regardless of what happens in the rest of their match. Combined with sequential laying, it becomes one of the most dependable recurring offers around.
How the play works
Pick one high-odds team to win from the fixtures available in the freeze promotion, then add four lower-odds teams to complete the five-leg acca. The high-odds team is your freeze leg: the moment they go ahead, you freeze, their leg is settled as won even if they collapse to a draw or defeat.
The freeze leg is where the value lives, and the maths follows one rule: the higher the freeze leg’s odds, the bigger your profit. The four filler legs just carry the acca; they get laid off sequentially so their results barely matter to your bottom line.
How to check access to Freezes
The offer isn’t shown to every account. To check yours: build a 5-team acca on Skybet and look for the Acca Freeze option on the bet slip before placing. If it’s offered, you have access. Maximum stake for the play: £20.
Build the acca
- Freeze leg: one high-odds team from the freeze-eligible fixtures, the bigger the price, the bigger the payoff when the freeze hits
- Four filler legs: well-known teams from the first or second division, home teams preferred, priced below 1.5 - you want legs that usually win and always have liquid lay markets
- No overlapping kick-offs among the filler legs, they must finish one after another so you can lay them sequentially (why this matters)
Set up the calculator
Open the sequential lay calculator in Freeze mode, enter your stake and total acca odds, then each leg’s lay odds in finishing order. It gives you the lay stake per leg; you lay each filler leg just before it kicks off, one at a time, exactly as in standard sequential laying.
Wait for the freeze team to play
Now the entire play condenses into one moment: your freeze team’s match. You’re watching for them to go ahead.
The rule: freeze the instant they go ahead. Do not cash out. Cashing out surrenders the position at Skybet’s margin; freezing settles the leg as a full winner at your backed odds. Freeze first, think later.
The two outcomes
They go ahead (freeze fires): their leg is locked as won at high odds. Your acca now only needs the filler legs, each of which you’re laying off as it comes, so the position resolves into locked-in profit driven by the freeze leg’s odds.
They never go ahead: the freeze never activates, the leg loses, the acca dies, and the sequential lays you placed on the fillers have been covering you throughout, leaving the usual small qualifying loss.
Small known cost when it misses, real profit when a big-priced team merely goes in front at any point, which happens far more often than them winning. That gap is the whole offer.
Freeze plays lean on the same skills as any sequential work: order the legs, never let events overlap, lay on time. The bot’s /seq reminders cover the timing; the sequential lay guide covers the method. Heavy freeze users eventually meet source of wealth checks from the exchange, worth reading before they arrive.
