Match markets
| Abbreviation | Meaning |

| FT | Full Time - the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time |
| HT | Half Time - the result at the interval |
| BTTS | Both Teams To Score - yes/no market on both sides scoring |
| WTN | Win To Nil - team wins and concedes nothing |
| WBH | Win Both Halves - team wins the first half and the second half separately |
Player markets
| Abbreviation | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AGS | Anytime Goalscorer - player scores at any point in the match |
| FGS | First Goalscorer - player scores the first goal of the match |
| AA | Anytime Assist - player provides an assist at any point |

Core terms worth knowing alongside the abbreviations
- Back bet - betting something will happen (at a bookmaker)
- Lay bet - betting it won’t (at an exchange) - the pairing behind all of matched betting
- Qualifying bet - the own-money bet that unlocks an offer (walkthrough)
- SNR - Stake Not Returned; how most free bets pay out (winnings only)
- Liability - the amount at risk on a lay bet if the backed outcome wins
- Underlay / Overlay - shifting the locked profit toward the back or lay side (underlaying explained)
- 2Up - the early payout play (guide)
- Gubbed - promo-restricted by a bookmaker (the legal picture)
- EV - Expected Value; the long-run worth of a bet (why it decides your lay method)
