Bet Builder Early Payout (Advanced 2Up)
A standard 2Up backs a team to win the match. The advanced version backs a bet builder covered by the early payout offer instead. Bet builders carry much higher odds than a straight match win, so when your team goes two goals up and the bookie pays out early, the amount they pay out is dramatically bigger.
Same mechanic, much larger prize.
How do I build the 2Up?
You build a bet builder where the selections are consistent with one scoreline, on a match covered by early payout. Worked example:
West Ham to win + Both Teams to Score + Over 3 goals + Under 5 goals, which together equal a 3-1 West Ham win, priced at 26.0.
- Back £40 on the builder at Bet365 → potential payout £1,040
- Lay £40 on West Ham on Smarkets as the cover
Because the builder is marked for early payout, West Ham going two goals up settles the entire £1,040 builder as a winner, regardless of whether the remaining legs (BTTS, the goal range) ever land.
Outcome 1: leave the 2Up to play out
West Ham go 2-0 up → Bet365 pays the builder → the match then finishes, say, 2-2. Your lay on West Ham also wins. Both sides paid: roughly £1,040 profit from a £40/£40 position. This is the jackpot outcome, and it’s why members hunt these builds.
Outcome 2: the game finishes as the backed score
West Ham win 3-1, exactly the scoreline your builder describes. The builder wins on its own merits, the lay loses, and the numbers net out to roughly £0. You’ve lost nothing for the attempt.
If West Ham win but not 3-1 (and never went 2-up), the builder loses and the lay loses too, this is the scenario your build must minimise, which is why selections should be chosen so that “West Ham win” overwhelmingly implies your legs land or the 2-up triggers first. The qualifying maths on the Bet Builder Lock In calculator shows your exposure per scoreline before you place anything.
Outcome 3: cash out when the team goes 2 up
Don’t want to ride the £1,040-or-nothing wave? The moment West Ham go 2-0 up, lock the profit in.
Using the calculator: open the Bet Builder Lock In calculator, enter your position and the live in-play lay odds, and it gives the exact lay stake that levels your profit across every remaining outcome.
Calculating manually: the payout is only at risk from the match reaching your backed scoreline (3-1 nets to zero), so you lay the danger score. With the builder paid £1,040 and 2-2 trading at 9.0, laying £100 on 2-2 locks in £100+ profit whatever happens: if it ends 2-2 the lay pays out against the settled builder; any other score, the £1,040 stands minus the small lay cost.
Using the calculator
The Bet Builder Lock In calculator handles both modes of this play, the pre-match setup (stake, builder odds, the scorelines that win it, each lay) and the in-play lock-in once a leg goes live. It’s the same tool our bot links pre-filled from bet builder alerts.
This is the biggest-swing play we run, and the discipline matters: only well-structured builds, only when the 2Up rating makes sense, sized within your bankroll. For ready-made build ideas, see the Bet365 25% bet builder boost guide.
